As of the spring of 2007, Kieffer Physical Therapy became a participating provider of physical therapy services under the Geisinger Health Plan. This allows a greater number of residents of the Central Susquehanna Valley to choose to access rehabilitation care in our clinic. Recent continuing education courses attended: Paul Kieffer, PT attended a seminar on differential diagnosis for the direct access physical therapist held at the University of Scranton. Erica Amato, DPT attended a seminar in Baltimore, MD on the management of the post-mastectomy patient. Brian Adams, PTA attended a seminar in Williamsport, PA on recent advances in pain management. Cindy Zechman, Office manager, attended the reimbursement seminar sponsored by the PA Physical Therapy Association and held in Harrisburg, PA. Recent weddings: Paul & Holly Kieffer's daughter, Erin, married Bryan Karpinski on June 23rd, 2007. She is a kindergarten teacher at Priestley Elementary School in Northumberland and Bryan works for CH Robinson in Mechanicsburg. The newlyweds are living in Selinsgrove. Deb & Robert Kramer's son, Jeremy, married Jessica Varner on September 22, 2007 and they are living in Liverpool, PA. New Equipment: This year, our clinic replaced its KinCom isokinetic evaluation and exercise system from it's venerable 125E to the 125AP. The 125AP (All position) is more advanced in patient positioning and is more versatile in exercise applications. The KinCom 125AP offers continuous passive motion (CPM); isokinetic, isometric and isotonic exercise and testing for all of the upper and lower extremity joint motions. This computer controlled system continues our commitment to providing the highest levels of care for our patients. |
