PRIVATE PRACTICE PHYSICAL THERAPY

What is it? Private practice physical therapy is a setting of physical therapy services in which a physical therapist(s) have set up and independent practice which they solely own and have outside ownership.

What are the benefits? Private practice physical therapists make all their clinical policies and procedures in line with the standards of the American Physical Therapy Association. More importantly, we can provide facilities and equipment according to the needs of the clinic without, for example, sharing revenue with other competing services of say a hospital or a corporate owned chain. You benefit having a modern, well-equipped facility dedicated to your rehabilitation and recovery.

Direct Access:

Since 2004, direct access has been available in Pennsylvania to physical therapists who have been credentialed by the State Board of Physical Therapy and who maintain their certification with required continuing education.

What is Direct Access? Direct Access allows healthcare consumers to come directly to a qualified and credentialed physical therapist for musculoskelatal or neurologic conditions or injuries for an evaluation and treatment, if appropriate. This allows a person to get physical therapy services faster. This is especially helpful with individuals who have established diagnoses and recurrent problems. A person may receive treatment for up to a 30 day period. If additional treatment is still warranted the patient must be seen by a physician before further treatment is permitted. If during the evaluation, your therapist determines that your problem requires additional diagnostic tests and further medical evaluation, you will be referred for such testing.
